Abstract
Entrepreneurship has proven a factor of great importance in fostering economic growth and development worldwide. The Republic of North Macedonia, being one of the youngest national economies in the old continent is and should not be an exemption. Having this in mind, during the last decade the country has undertaken serious steps in building a functional system for the support of entrepreneurial activity is a functional ecosystem for entrepreneurial growth. The purpose of this paper is to make a comprehensive view of the progress made and the support of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial activity, through the analysis of the relevant documents at the national level covering policies, legislation, and national strategies for competitiveness, sustainable development, and support of small and medium enterprises. Namely, an overview of the state institutions of the Republic of North Macedonia, which have a role in the ecosystem for supporting entrepreneurship, will be provided throughout the paper.
