Abstract

In this study, the main goal is to realize the suitability of the construct and metric characteristics of the instrument for measuring the performance evaluation of primary education teachers in North Macedonia, through non-experimental methodology and instrumental design. The sample participation in the study is a total of 137 teachers, of which 34 are male teachers and 104 are female teachers, with a mean age M=41.50 years, minimum 22 years and maximum 62 years and standard deviation SD=8.43, while their minimum work experience is 1 year of work and maximum 40 years of work as a teacher. Teacher performance refers to the efficacy of teachers' work in relation to students and their success, their support during certain difficulties and uncertainties and the planning of teaching programs and strategies. During the “face to face” procedure, most of the questions have undergone minor changes but without changing the general meaning from the original questionnaire of Akram. M and Zepeda. S. J (2015) and have been adapted as a result of the proposals and form of understanding from the teachers involved in this phase, a total of 28 questions have been adapted for the application part to the study sample. In the exploratory factor analysis, 5 groups of factors were grouped, which explained 63% of the variance, because some questions based on meaning and content were analyzed and found appropriate to be grouped into 3 factors, with the confirmatory analysis, they were grouped with 3 factors that explained 65% of the variance and based on the theoretical approach and other relevant research presented in the theoretical framework, these factors were named: teacher efficacy, student support and teaching planning, while the Cronbach's Alpha reliability analysis resulted in high internal consistency for all factors and the instrument as a whole as an identity. This study has a very important scientific contribution in the field of organizational psychology, educational psychology and psychometrics because it will provide a suitable and adequate instrument for measuring the performance evaluation of teachers in primary education and for all other researchers it will provide data for comparing metric characteristics with other measuring instruments for the same variable, while educational institutions and educational policymakers will have the opportunity to verify the performance levels of teachers in education according to the relevant categories with standard data from the population of Albanian teachers in North Macedonia.
