Abstract

The aim of this paper is to mediate the German language lexicon in the Studio D method of the Cornelsen publishing house (Authors: Funk, Hermann, Demme, Silke, Kuhn, Christina, Bayerlein, Oliver). The efficiency of achieving the goals and the learning objectives in mediating the lexicon during the language practice in the subject Contemporary German Language (semester 1-8) by the method D is the essential purpose of this paper. The lexicon can be presented to students in various books/methods. On one hand, the language is integrated into texts, supported by photographs and is linked to different language skills, while on the other hand the text can be presented without pictures and can be practiced in multiple ways or methods. The forms and the contents of the exercises will be elaborated in this paper. The Studio D method is divided into four volumes, each volume being appropriate for the respective language level. Starting from the lowest or beginner level A1, which gradually changes its content to other higher levels A2, B1 and B2. In transparent teaching sequences, the Studio D method offers lexical exercises for each level separately, in accordance with different skills, such as: understanding through reading and listening, the versatility of oral expression, conversation and speech creativity as well as the versatility of expression by writing.
