Abstract
In this paper, we will discuss the use of certain word-terms by students in upper secondary schools in Vushtrri, for which we will propose equivalents in the Albanian language. Many of these word-terms are derived from English. Through our research—by recording the anglicism’s that appear in students’ writing and spoken language—we have identified a large number of borrowings, particularly those referring to everyday concepts (especially among students), as well as terms related to technical and economic subjects. Given the widespread use of information technology in high schools today, we will also include a considerable number of terms from this field of contemporary knowledge. The paper will present these word- terms, offering reflections (often thought-provoking) on their use and suggesting possible replacements from the general lexical treasury of the Albanian language.
