Abstract
In the field of Albanian scientific-technical terminology, a contribution that deserves special recognition is the decades-long work of Professor Agron Duro, who laid the scientific foundations for many phenomena in terminology, drawing on the works of the world’s most prominent scholars and terminologists. His highly valuable contributions-including studies on terms as systemic elements, stable terminological phrases in contemporary Albanian, intraphrase connections, terminological systems at the interlingual level, terminological systems and dilemmas in Albanian word formation, the Albanianization of terminology (both foreign words and foreign terms), the role of the Albanian lexicon in completing and enriching the basic fund of terminology, and the reflections of theoretical studies of terminology in the practice of compiling terminological dictionaries, while also setting tasks for addressing terminology problems—have opened professional pathways for broader studies in terminological practice and for the compilation of dictionaries across various fields of knowledge, in relation to major world languages such as English, German, Russian, and others.
