Abstract
The learning and use of world languages such as English, German, and French have become a necessity of our time, both for communication and for accessing professional and scientific literature, as well as for employment opportunities. This paper presents an overview of the foreign languages taught in upper secondary schools in Vushtrri. In the general gymnasium, English and French are taught, while in vocational schools, English, German, and French are offered. In particular, during the last decade, the teaching of German has been included in the curricula of upper secondary schools, and students’ interest in learning it has significantly increased, especially in technical fields. To obtain a clearer picture of the teaching of foreign languages—especially German—at the Technical High School “Lutfi Musiqi” in Vushtrri, a questionnaire was conducted among 11th and 12th-grade students studying German. The results of this survey are presented and discussed in this paper.
