Abstract

Sami Frashëri drafted the Albanian grammar in Albanian language and this was a very positive endeavor from the scientific point of view, as well as from national and patriotic standpoint. He worked really hard to explain the language material and simultaneously create and organize the terminology and make it as scientific and as much Albanian as possible for the grammar of his mother tongue. This forced S. Frashëri to really explore on the peculiarities of the Albanian language, so he could produce a grammar (Shkronjëtore) as Albanian specific and at the same time stay as far away as possible from foreign grammar influences, despite the findings that Sami Frashëri has been influenced by western languages like German and French. The researchers note that the ideas and theories of S. Frashër have a satisfactory scientific level; if we take into account scientific developments of the descriptive grammar in Western Europe at the time. This paper will highlight terminology and terms as own creations of Sami Frashëri; we will show how many of these terms have found support and have spread into the texts of today's grammar of the Albanian language; will highlight the theoretical concepts of the grammatical categories of the Albanian language, which have stood throughout the time and the scientific truth.
