Abstract
Phraseological expressions are an invaluable asset for any language and they reflect the wisdom of a people, its history and its culture. For this occasion, we decided to analyze some of the phraseological expressions represented in the novel "The General of the Dead Army" by Ismail Kadare, both in the original Albanian and in its Macedonian translation. We notice that their representation in this work is huge, so in this paper we will refer to only one part of the multitude of wise expressions that represent the essence, culture, customs and life of a people. Our goal is to highlight the specificity, the variations in which phraseological expressions occur in both languages, but also to perceive the degree of their equivalence.
