Abstract
This paper examines several prepositional object phrases in the German language (Präpositionalobjekte), focusing on their syntactic function and the manner in which they are realized and translated into Albanian, following a contrastive approach between German and Albanian. Based on the normative grammars of Duden, the definitions of the object and the use of the Dative and Accusative cases in the construction of these phrases are analyzed. Special attention is given to the semantic differences between the prepositions auf and über, which—although often translated similarly into Albanian—carry distinct shades of meaning depending on context and verb tense. Through a contrastive analysis, the paper explores the challenges posed by the translation of these constructions and identifies possible syntactic equivalents in the Albanian language.
