Abstract

This paper addresses the sociology of language as a branch of the social sciences that examines society in relation to language. Language is connected to socialization in three fundamental dimensions. First, it serves as the primary tool of socialization; second, it represents socialization through language, whereby linguistic varieties emerge that reflect social groups; and third, it involves socialization about language, in the form of knowledge concerning linguistic structures and functions. Today, in the field of publishing, we find ourselves in the most disoriented linguistic era, where educational and scientific texts are produced in impoverished Albanian, full of deviations from the standard norm, without accountability or responsibility. Even a superficial glance at the textbooks used in schools and universities—both public and private, particularly in Prishtina, Skopje, Tetovo, and Tirana—reveals that they are written and published with numerous linguistic errors: orthographic, grammatical, syntactic, stylistic, semantic, and terminological. In the field of terminology, there are even subject names that are linguistically incorrect, along with other notions fabricated either as incomplete translations from Slavic languages and English, or as substandard formations.
