Abstract

My intervention consists in treating and developing, in the field of general linguistics, the contribution left by the late scholar Tullio De Mauro, who wrote the appendix “Alcuni caratteri tipici delle scienze linguistiche contemporanee” in a book translated into Italian with the title “Profilo storico della linguistica moderna” of the French author Maurice Leroy. In the appendix, Tullio De Mauro highlights some typical characteristics related to the differentiation of the systems and the linguistic productive modalities as such, for which it results that the languages are the depositaries of an infinite and determining power for other modern sciences, as well as a means of communication in different realities. I would suggest that, perhaps, it would be useful and opportune that we Albanologists from these areas would consider it as part of and a branch of this vast and interrelated field of studies on an international level, whereby we should adjust and assimilate the experiences and the studies of the great international linguists, considering that these phases were already lived in western countries decades before us, but also on the basis of consideration that our society is undergoing changes in its social and society framework and attempts, in fact, to support other world realities. In the field of comparative linguistics, the Albanian language most definitely carries a very valuable treasure to support gnoseology in general, and thanks to this peculiarity, it can be inserted and integrated in many other scientific fields.
