Abstract

In the works of Jean-Paul Sartre we encounter a junction of existentialism as a philosophical stream and literary stream. It cannot be taken as coincidence this binomial. A large number of existentialists, especially French ones, were at the same time novelists, playwrights, publicists, and in some cases poets. The circumstances of Sartre’s life influenced him to deal in parallel with philosophy and literature. Nausea was a true lesson of the time. In this novel is the life of the 1930s, which for Sartre was the beginning or the reasons for writing this novel. Nausea keeps track of this experience, as in the structure of a story that resembles a novel in creation or many reasons that this tale depicts hero Antoine Roquentin in the position of an original writer. This novel in his make-up staged a lonely, exiled person in a seaside town resembling Le Havre. Of course, Antoine Roquentin has no professional obligation, a position as a philosophy professor, and will pass to Mathieu, a future character in the Roads of Freedom. So Sartre’s first novel, which gives a good example of sequencing the text in succession, later on this text reaches many readers meanings. Approaches to this novel have been added periodically, starting with the philosophical summaries of psychoanalytic studies, text analysis for genesis studies.
