Abstract
The word of honour given for something or for an issue is encountered as a topic in different peoples in the form of oral tradition which come from ancient times, and which is later represented in written form. To Albanians, the word of honour, or in other words besa, has a more complex, more sublime meaning and takes on a character with an emotional and moral weight. So it is a call to fulfill something that has been promised in advance and that must be fulfilled. Besa as a theme has been represented in a number of Kadare's works, but in a more complex approach it is found in the novel “The Ghost Rider”(in Alb.:"Kush e solli Doruntinen"). This is an early theme that comes from legends and other variants are also known as sisterhoods to different peoples, especially the peoples of Balkan. Therefore, in order to approach this intriguing topic that is represented in Kadare's novel, one must necessarily approach it by the analytical, synthesizing, comparative, sociological and historical method. Therefore, it is of interest to raise this complex topic to simplify how the author operates in the functioning of temporal interconnection, rejuvenating the themes of legends with a masterful inscription that naturally interconnects the transcendental mission. Also, how does he complete the picture, from a distant background of memory with other additional narratives, events and happenings, or even other artistic figures that carry the starting point of the narrative of the event to the compliance with the topicality of the time. Always with the mission of courage for positive treatment in focusing the message on combating social paradoxes.
